Tickled Pink!

Finally, after 3 boys (3 beautiful boys!) we are expecting a girl! My daughter Bethany is having a little girl in July and we are, yes, tickled pink!  In June, we threw her a Tickled Pink baby shower (who can resist pink after 3 baby boys?) and these are some of the images from that beautiful day!

This display atop the piano featured baby photos of all the woman in Baby A's life with the famous saying "Thank Heaven for Little Girls."

Pink Taffy and little bags!

Bunny Cups

Made these little bunny cups today for my three little bunnies! So far, my grandchildren are arriving one after another and between David and I, we have five children! That potentially equals a lot of grandchildren! So I thought I should do a little something and start the tradition of a little Easter cup--maybe fill it with a chocolate bunny, jelly beans, a small toy and maybe hide a little cash on the bottom as they grow older.  I have always believed that the best things come in little packages, and I also think that the package can be half the fun!  They can get their big old Easter baskets from everyone else, but the little Easter cup from Nana will be the one thing they really look forward to!

Made them out of paper cups, covered them in crepe paper, cut petal strips to cover the lip of the cup by gluing inside, attached a sparkly pipe cleaner handle and stuffed with pretty flower tissue paper. I made the tags using a rubber stamp and pretty lavender ribbon. Super easy! Thought about adding other embellishments and decided they were just perfect the way they are!  For the grand-daughters to come, I'll do pink! I wonder how many of these little cups I'll end up having in another 5 years!

Here's my three little bunnies!
This is Adrian who is 7 months old!  Isn't he just a doll!

Little Nicolas is turning 2 this month!  Love his sparkly mischievous eyes!

And this is my little buddy, my first grandson, Andrew, who is 2 1/2. Love them all!

Happy Easter everyone!

O Baby! Here We Go Again!

Yup, here we go again! We're expecting yet another little baby in the family! My youngest daughter, Jennifer, is having a baby boy at the summer's end! Here are some pics from the baby shower I hosted for her a few weeks back in my home. It was supposed to be an outdoor event held in the garden, but rain that week changed our plans.  The theme, you can see is "the garden."

Above clockwise: paper bunting, coconut garden cake with chocolate ganache filling, tissue poms and lanterns (that's Jenni's engagement photo), Jenni & Jake the dog in front of buffet table, baby photo tree made from branch, Jenni & friends, lavender sachet favors, baby boy onesie clothes line, paper pixie flowers..

Below: Jenni & friends, the Momma's Chair-of-Honor, paper "oh baby" and "oh boy" flowers in bud vases, lovely Jenni and her lovely cake, tiny hand-me-down "chucks" (worn by both my other grandsons) hung in the doorway like mistletoe, frog diaper cake, white petunia centerpiece, gift time, tissue paper poms and more pretty paper bunting in the middle.

It was perfect! No silly games--just a lovely gathering of friends and family, great Spanish food (menu post to follow soon) and baby talk in a beautiful indoor garden!

DIY: Dreamy Bridal Bouquet

Mmmmm . . . LOVE this colorful bridal bouquet! And the best part is, it's a DIY!  Flowers, to me, are one of the most important parts of a wedding celebration, but who says they have to be the most expensive?  Why not save yourself a whole lot of money and DIY?  Check out this great tutorial on etsy that comes from Craftzine staff writer, Brookelynn Morris, on how to create your own spectacular bridal bouquet!
